Moose Notes

PREPPING FOR GAME 3: Embarking on tonight's game, the Moose look to take a three-game edge over the Griffins. The Moose currently sit 7-7 in Game 3's. The Moose lost their last Game 3 to the Toronto Marlies on Apr. 19/09 (1-2 L). Game 3 has also proven to be the game the Moose seem most likely to go to overtime. In the 19 previous playoff series, the Moose have gone to overtime in seven Game 3's. The Moose are 3-4 in those games. Game 3 has gone to overtime in three of the last five series the Moose have played, and Manitoba has dropped all three of those games.

TAKING IT TO THE ROAD: The Moose and Griffins continue their North Division Final series in Grand Rapids tonight. The series takes over to Grand Rapids for Games 3, 4 and a possible Game 5, shifting back to Manitoba for Games 6 and 7 if necessary. The Moose are 24-28 all-time on the road in the playoffs, winning only once in three tries away from home in 2008. So far in this year's postseason series, the Moose hold a 2-1 record when playing away from the MTS Centre. Manitoba's most successful playoff year on the road came in 2003, where the Moose took two games each from Portland, Providence and Hamilton away from home, finishing 6-3 on the road that year. During the 2008-09 regular season, the Moose set a new franchise record with a 25-10-1-4 mark away from MTS Centre.

MULTI-POINT MAN: With a goal and an assist on May 1 and a shorthanded marker and assist on May 2, Alexandre Bolduc is on his first multi-point streak of the 2009 playoffs and his AHL playoff career. His shorthanded goal in the first period on May 2 is the first of the postseason for the Moose. He recorded a goal and an assist in three games against Toronto before missing the final three games with an injury. He now has six career AHL postseason points, four of which are against the Griffins, in five games.

Upcoming Opponent

The Manitoba Moose travel to Grand Rapids for Game 3 (May 4), Game 4 (May 6) and a possible Game 5 (May 8) at the Van Andel Arena. The Moose went 2-2-0-0 against Grand Rapids this year, winning once at home and on the road. The Moose have struggled against the Griffins since the two teams joined the AHL, posting an overall 17-19-5-4 record, as well as one tie.
