Moose Sign Steve Christie to ATO

The Manitoba Moose announced today they have signed goaltender Steve Christie to an amateur tryout contract.

Christie, 26, recently completed his senior season with the University of Manitoba ending his final year of eligibility at the Canadian University level. Christie has served as the Bisons starting goaltender for the past three seasons and compiled a record of 41-37-8 at the U of M. His best season came in 2009-10 when Christie earned CIS Men's Hockey Goaltender of the Year honours and helped lead the Bisons to the CIS National Championship Tournament for the first time since 2004-05.

The native of Winnipeg, Manitoba initially joined the Texas Brahmas of the Central Hockey League after the Bisons were eliminated on Mar. 5/11 by the University of Alberta Golden Bears in the Canada West Semi-Final. Christie appeared in three regular season games with the Brahmas recording one win and two losses. Texas was eliminated from the CHL playoffs on Apr. 7/11.
