Lewiston MAINEiacs News Release
Lewiston, ME -It was no repeat performance by the MAINEiacs on Friday night versus the Mooseheads. The Halifax Mooseheads shut out the Lewiston MAINEiacs 2-0 in front of 2,209 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee Friday night. The loss keeps the MAINEiacs in 4th place in the Telus Central division while the Mooseheads remain in 6th place in the Atlantic division.
All Halifax needed happened in the first period in under 13 minutes. Halifax forward Ned O'Brien scored the first goal of the night off a pass from Justin Pender and Linden Bahm on the power play about half way through the first period. A little over 2 minutes later Chad Earle scored with assists by Gerrad Grant and Linden Bahm.
The MAINEiacs shelled Halifax goaltender Mark Yetman with 43 shots on the night, but none found their way into the net. With the win, Yetman's record stands at 3-8-0 on the year. Lewiston's rookie netminder Philip Wright played well, but took his first loss of the year, giving him a 2-1-0 record.

The MAINEiacs will try to rebound tomorrow night against the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. It's Breast Cancer Awareness Night at the MAINEiacs. The boys in blue will be playing with special pink hockey sticks, and goaltender Peter Delmas will be wearing a customized pink goalie mask designed by Tim Lafrance of East Coast Sign & Design. All the sticks will be given away via raffle, and Delmas' goalie mask will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society. Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
