Today, the Manitoba Moose announced their 2003 exhibition schedule. The club will play a pair of games against one of the AHL's new expansion teams, the Toronto Roadrunners, in Thunder Bay, Ontario on Friday, October 3rd and Saturday, October 4th. Both games will be played at the Fort Williams Gardens. Game times are 7:30. Tickets will be on sale starting September 1st, 2003. Adults $20 or a two day pass is $36. Children 12 and under are $10 a game.
This will be the second time the Moose have taken their exhibition schedule to Thunder Bay. Last year, they hosted the St. John's Maple Leafs for two games at the Gardens.
The Roadrunners officially joined the league on February 13, 2003 and are the AHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers. To this date, the team has not yet named their first head coach, but Oilers assistant General Manager Scott Howson is the Roadrunners inaugural general manager. He held the same position with the 2002/03 AHL Eastern Conference Champion Hamilton Bulldogs.
