Cleveland Monsters News Release

A well-traveled journeyman in the professional ranks, Cleveland center Zac Dalpe has played for numerous organizations in the American and National Hockey Leagues since being drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Claimed on waivers by Columbus last season from the Minnesota Wild, Dalpe is back in the state in which he competed collegiately for the Ohio State Buckeyes. A profile of Dalpe and his family would provide a classic example of the long and winding road that so many AHL players travel.

A first-round selection by the Chicago Blackhawks once upon a time, a professional career that spanned parts of two decades ended following the Monsters' 2015-16 Calder Cup Championships season for former defenseman Steve McCarthy. Now in the midst of his second season as Cleveland's assistant coach, McCarthy's transition from player to coach is complete and an exploration of his current role and responsibilities would provide a unique glimpse in to the many layers of the hockey industry.
