Moncton Miracles Sign Two More Returning Players

The Moncton Miracles are pleased to announce the signing of DaQuan Brooks and Shamus Ferguson.
DaQuan Brooks, a 5'9" point guard, played for the Miracles in their 2014-15 season. He averaged 11.9 points per game and 4.5 assists per game. Before joining the Miracles, Brooks played at Western Connecticut State where he scored a school record 2,269 points. He also played in the NBA D-League with the Maine Red Claws.
Coach Serge Langis said DaQuan coming back was a no brainer. "There is no denying his speed and his quickness is among the best in our league. When his shot is on, he is a threat from the outside our opponents cannot ignore. Where I hope he has improved in the off-season is with his physical strength. DaQuan needs to be able to absorb contact from opposing guards and not give up too much space in doing so. His point guard game also needs to be more mature. I am very much looking forward to working with him again."
"I've worked so hard this summer," said Brooks. "I'm ready to focus on getting better everyday as a team and bringing a championship to Moncton. The fans and community of Moncton are so loyal and supportive; we owe it to them."
Shamus Ferguson, a 6'10" center, also joined the Miracles in their 2014-15 season. Ferguson averaged 3.9 points per game and 3.5 rebounds per game last season. He played at the University of Ottawa and was one of four Canadians on last year's roster.
"The fans are extremely loyal and stayed in my corner last season," said Ferguson. "They deserve a winning team. I want to help bring a championship to the city."
Langis will be looking for Shamus to contribute to their rebounding and interior defense and to bring the same toughness as he did last season. "Shamus is a true professional. He's probably our most improved player from last year's group. He takes on any role the team needs and fulfills it as best he can. He is always positive and hard working."
