Moncton Fails to Match Riptide Hot Shooting

The Moncton Magic, fresh off a home win over the KW Titans, traveled to Saint John to play the Riptide Thursday night at Harbour Station.
Although preseason fans could have predicted an NB rivalry, the NBL community has been lucky enough to watch these two teams fight for second for a huge part of the schedule.
However, Thursday's game proved to be less exciting. The Magic team, without Terry Thomas, looked tired, and despite some fight were defeated 85-106.
Although the result was less than favorable, Moncton saw a few good numbers. Corey Allmond and Al Stewart dropped 13 points apiece, with the latter making 7 assists, Jeremy Williams and Anthony Anderson had 11 and 10 points.
The highlight of the night for the Magic was their newest player Juan Pattillo shooting 7/11 and finishing with 6 rebounds and 15 points. The squad was extremely happy to see such an active and involved performance out of Pattillo in just his second appearance, for which he was named Player of the Game.
Mareik Isom led for Saint John on Thursday; he had 6 rebounds and 23 points. Malcolm Miller and Horace Wormley put up 18 and 17 respectively for the away team.
The Magic will be returning home Sunday March 4th to host the London Lightening 7:00pm at the Coliseum, before travelling to Cape Breton to play the Highlanders March 8th. The Magic's last and only game against the Lighting ended in a heated white-knuckled loss in double overtime. The league is expecting to see the same sparks on Sunday.
