Monarchs Earn 4-2 win over Saltdogs

LAST NIGHT: Jan Hernandez broke a one all tie and Casey Gillaspie went yard twice in the Monarchs 4-2 win over the Saltdogs Friday night in Lincoln. Matt Hartman allowed one earned run in six innings tossing his fifth straight quality start for Kansas City.
TODAY: The Monarchs continue their six game two city road trip with the second game of a three game series against Lincoln Saltdogs at Haymarket Park in Lincoln, Nebraska.
PITCHING MATCHUP: The Monarchs will send RHP Nick Belzer (3-2, 4.76) to the hill to face RHP Elijah Johnson (1-3, 5.26) for the Saltdogs.
UP NEXT: The Monarchs will take a three-day break for the American Association All-Star game. The team returns to Legends Field next Thursday July 14th against Lake Country. It will be the Dockhounds first trip to Kansas City to face Monarchs.
VS. THE DOGS:
This is the second series meeting between the two clubs this season.
"Kay-see" won all three meetings earlier at Legends Field and after the win last night hold a 4-0 season lead in the series. Last season Lincoln held the season edge 7-5 and the Monarchs are all time 62- 49 against the "Dogs" in the American Association.
