Mohr, Gardner Named Players of the Week

DURHAM, NC - PA-Sportsticker, the official statistician of the American Association, has named Wichita Wingnuts OF Dustan Mohr and Lincoln Saltdogs RHP Jarrett Gardner as the Teamline Direct Batter and Pitcher of the Week.
During the week in seven games, Mohr batted .406 with one home run and 10 RBI. He scored eight runs, collected 13 hits to go along with a .563 slugging percentage. In Wichita's 7-0 victory over the St. Paul Saints Saturday night, Mohr went 3-for-5 with a run scored, two doubles and three runs driven in. The Hattiesburg, MS native is batting .317 this season with six home runs, 39 RBI and 51 hits.
The 33-year-old Mohr was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 9th round of the 1997 draft. He spent three seasons with the Indians organization before signing with the Minnesota Twins in April of 2000. Mohr reached the majors with the Twins in 2001. He has also spent big league time with the San Francisco Giants, Colorado Rockies, Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays.
Gardner pitched a no-hitter against the El Paso Diablos this past Thursday. He allowed only one walk while fanning four El Paso batters in 92 pitches. On the season, Gardner is 5-3 with a 3.92 ERA in nine starts. He is tied for second in the American Association with two complete games and tied for third in wins.
The 28-year-old was a 19th round selection of the Boston Red Sox in the 2003 draft. He pitched three seasons in the Red Sox farm system before joining Lincoln in 2006. Gardner has also played in the San Diego Padres organization.
