Mohawks Rally late to beat Stallions 4-3

Saugerties N.Y.- Brendan Tracy went 2-3, helping the Amsterdam Mohawks (30-8) to a 4-3 victory over the Saugerties Stallions (11-27) on Friday at Cantine Memorial Veterans Field.

He singled in the fourth and sixth innings.

Tyler Smith had an impressive outing against the Saugerties Stallions' lineup. Smith held the Saugerties Stallions hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Joe Randall improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Amsterdam Mohawks. He allowed one run over one inning. Randall struck out one, walked one and gave up one hit.

Dalton Dahley ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed four runs.

Game Two

Stallions Late Game Rally Not Enough to Get Win

Saugerties N.Y.- Not even a strong hitting and pitching performance from Pat Dorrian could carry the Saugerties Stallions (11-28) past the Amsterdam Mohawks (31-8) at Cantine Memorial Veterans Field on Friday as the Saugerties Stallions suffered a 5-4 defeat.

The Saugerties Stallions were led by Dorrian's hitting. Dorrian went 2-3 and scored two runs. He singled in the second and fourth innings.

The Amsterdam Mohawks couldn't get anything going so long as Dorrian was on the hill. Dorrian held the Amsterdam Mohawks hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

Aidan McDermott led the Amsterdam Mohawks' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI. He tripled in the second inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Joe Nellis improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Amsterdam Mohawks. He allowed one run over one inning. Nellis struck out three, walked none and gave up two hits.

Matt Wojciak (1-1) took the loss for the Saugerties Stallions. He lasted just five innings, walked five, struck out five, and allowed five runs.
