Modesto Bearcats Sign Hotels To Team

Modesto, CA. Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites and Super 8 Hotel of Modesto have both joined as the newest members of the ABA Modesto Bearcats professional basketball team. The hotels have agreed to act as lodging sponsors and host the visiting teams.
Reggie Rucker, Director of Marketing for the Bearcats, was thrilled to finalize the details of the agreement. "It's great to join Super 8 and Holiday Inn Express as they embark on their own venture of giving the hotel chain a face lift," Rucker said. "They expressed a great deal of interest in having us be a part of their new direction and growth, and we are equally excited to have them join us in our infant stage."
The hotels, located just off Highway 99 in North Modesto, are perfectly located for the teams that will be playing a few minutes away in the new basketball gym at Salida Middle School. According to Rucker, there were several hotels that expressed interest in dealing with the Bearcats, but the relationship with Holiday Inn Express and Super 8 ultimately made the most sense from a variety of standpoints.
"We are honored to join this great new organization," Brian Lee, General Manager of the Holiday Inn Express-Modesto expressed of the new agreement and his optimism about what the Bearcats will mean to the Modeso community. "They will be an awesome addition to the fast growing calendar of events for Modesto and provide great role models for our Modesto youth," Lee added.
The team's 2008-2009 schedule will be available mid-September, just in time as the Bearcats pick up their calendar of promotional events. They currently have a fundraiser dinner at Hungry Hunter in Modesto on September 18th, an appearance at the KWIN and KBUENO radio stations' customer appreciation day September 20th and the start of their Hoops 4 Health program in October.
"Our whole emphasis is about community first," Rucker emphasized, "so it's critical for us to be working in the community as much as we work on the court to ensure not only the team's success, but the community's success as well." With a growing list of partners in the community like Holiday Inn Express and Super 8, it looks like the Bearcats are well on their way in both regards.
