Modelo Teams with Roughnecks on Jersey Deal

The final design piece is now in place for the uniforms the Tulsa Roughnecks FC will wear for their inaugural season of play in the USL PRO soccer league. The club announced today a multi-year partnership with Anheuser-Busch Sales of Oklahoma that makes Modelo Especial the first-ever jersey sponsor for the club. The Modelo logo will appear on the front of all jerseys worn by the team.

Modelo will be the jersey sponsor on each of the three Roughnecks kits during their inaugural 2015 season.

"We are excited to announce this major partnership between our club and Modelo and Anheuser-Busch Sales," said Roughnecks President Mike Melega. "We appreciate Modelo's commitment to the return of outdoor, professional soccer to the city of Tulsa."

The Roughnecks will wear three different uniforms during the upcoming season. The home kits will feature orange jerseys and shorts, while the road kits will have navy blue tops and bottoms. A third change kit pays respect to the original Roughnecks team that played in the old NASL from 1978-1984. Modelo will be featured prominently on the front of all three versions.

"The forming of the Tulsa Roughnecks franchise marks a new era for professional soccer in Tulsa," said Dan Peters, Director of Sales and Marketing for Anheuser Busch Sales of Oklahoma. "It is exciting to see how the team has grown since the initial announcement, and that is why our Modelo brand ties in so well with the team. Modelo and the Roughnecks are both growing brands in the Tulsa market, and we are looking forward to seeing them both grow and develop together."

Modelo Especial is a pilsner-style lager whose original recipe was first brewed in Mexico in 1925. Since being introduced in the United States in the 1990s, Modelo Especial has grown organically from the ground up, becoming one of the country's top imported brands.

The Roughnecks recently announced that their first regular season game will be played on Saturday, March 28 in downtown Tulsa. They will host their cross-state rivals, the Oklahoma City Energy, in the opener at ONEOK Field.
