MLS's Toronto FC prepares for Carolina Challenge Cup with training week in Charleston

Charleston SC. Major League Soccer's newest franchise Toronto FC arrived in Charleston on Monday for a week of training ahead of the 2007 Carolina Challenge Cup. The Carolina Challenge Cup kicks off this Saturday at 6PM as the 2006 MLS champs the Houston Dynamo take on Toronto FC. The Charleston Battery plays the New York Red Bulls in the second game starting at 8:15 PM.

Toronto FC's roster includes MLS #1 2007 Superdraft pick Maurice Edu. Edu and Toronto scrimmaged Coastal Carolina University Wednesday afternoon at Blackbaud Stadium and will continue to train in Charleston ahead of this weekend's games. The Houston Dynamo gets into Charleston Thursday; New York arrives on Friday afternoon.
