MLS, TSN and RDS Announce 2013 Regular Season National Broadcast Schedule for Canada
February 5, 2013 - Major League Soccer (MLS) News Release
NEW YORK (Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013) - As the official national broadcasters of Major League Soccer (MLS) in Canada, TSN and RDS kick off their third year with a package that includes 30 games, all featuring the Montreal Impact, Toronto FC, or Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
In addition to the national games featuring at least one Canadian MLS club, TSN and TSN2 will broadcast select MLS games featuring U.S.-based teams; those matches will be announced in the coming weeks.
TSN also has partnered with Toronto FC to broadcast an additional 11 regular season games, for a total of 41 nationally televised MLS games. See the Toronto FC schedule for more details.
TSN and RDS platforms will have exclusive coverage of MLS Cup Playoff games, MLS Cup 2013, and the 2013 MLS All-Star Game on July 31 at Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kansas.
All MLS games on TSN, TSN2, RDS and RDS2 can be seen live on TSN Mobile TV and Télé Mobile RDS.
The TSN and RDS schedule begins with Vancouver Whitecaps FC's home opener against Toronto FC on March 2 at 6:30 p.m. ET. Last year, the Whitecaps became the first Canadian club to qualify for the MLS Cup Playoffs. Toronto FC looks to break their six-year drought this year. The networks also will broadcast Toronto FC's home opener against Sporting Kansas City on March 9 and the Montreal Impact's home opener, against Toronto, on March 16.
The MLS on TSN and RDS schedule features five all-Canadian matches, including the season opener for Toronto FC and Vancouver Whitecaps FC on March 2 and the season finale for Toronto FC and Montreal Impact on Oct. 26.
