
MLS Disciplinary Committee Decisions: Weeks 17 and 18

NEW YORK - The MLS Disciplinary Committee has found New York City FC forward David Villa in violation of league policy regarding hands to the face, head or neck of an opponent (VIDEO). Villa has been fined an undisclosed amount for his actions in the 42nd minute of New York City's match against the New York Red Bulls on July 3.
In addition, LA Galaxy midfielder Nigel de Jong has been suspended for one additional game (two games total) and issued an undisclosed fine for a serious foul play that endangered the safety of an opponent in the 74th minute against the Vancouver Whitecaps on July 4 (VIDEO). De Jong, who originally received a red card for the play, served the first game of his suspension on July 9 against Seattle Sounders FC and will serve the second game of his suspension on Friday, July 15 against the Houston Dynamo.
Finally, Seattle Sounders FC forward Oalex Anderson has been found guilty of simulation during the 86th minute of Seattle's match against LA Galaxy on July 9 (VIDEO). The MLS Disciplinary Committee has issued Anderson an undisclosed fine for his actions.
