Your Six-Time Champion Milwaukee Wave kick off their 33rd season on the road Friday night at 7:35pm, against the team who knocked them out of the 2015 - 2016 Major Arena Soccer League Playoffs, the rival Kansas City Comets.

Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero enters his third year at the helm and brings some fresh faces to the team along with a new assistant coach in former player Marcelo Fontana and Goalkeeper Coach Nick Vorberg.

"Those guys are fantastic," said Oliviero. "Nick has been on board for two years now and it's great to have Marcelo step back from the playing side and be another set of eyes to help all the young players we have. To have these two guys that played the game at such a high level and played through all of the toughest moments, the ups and downs in their careers; to have them teach the young guys as they go, we couldn't be luckier."

Making the transition from player to coach:

"It's a nice transition to have but it was time. Indoor soccer is a young player's game. I know I'm going to miss the playing time during the game but I still plan on staying in shape to keep up with the young guys and help them. I'm happy that the front office, Gules and the team have the confidence in me for this role.. We can already see that they want to get better, succeed and bring a championship back home to Milwaukee. I'm going to help these young guys as best as I can but the more important thing here is to try to prepare the team for every game. It'll be nice to make the post season but it'll a long road."

Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero's Final Thoughts...

"We're looking forward to opening up this 33rd season on the road against one of our arch nemesis Kansas City. We have a nothing to lose attitude and we're gonna go in there feeling that we've prepared as best as we could with what we have and we believe we can get the result that we need.
