Missouri's Charlie Effinger Named Oakley CHL Player of the Week

TEMPE, AZ (November 1, 2011) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Missouri's Charlie Effinger has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending October 30, 2011.

The Belleville, Illinois native is unbeaten on the young season and was perfect in his two starts last week, both in Arizona against the Sundogs. Effinger faced an amazing 95 shots in his two starts and stopped 91 of them (.958 save percentage).

CHL Goaltending Leaders

On Wednesday, the 6-1, 185-pound net minder made 49 saves in a 7-2 victory over the Sundogs. He followed that up with a 42 save performance in a 4-2 win on Saturday night in Arizona.

Effinger leads the league with four wins on the season and is fourth with a 1.50 goals against average and third with a .961 save percentage. The third-year pro has yet to allow a goal in 80 minutes of play in the second period of games this season and has yet to allow more than two goals in any one contest.
