Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release
The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees, proud affiliates of the Florida Panthers and San Antonio Rampage, announced on Tuesday that they have signed forward Jason Dixon. Dixon started the season with the Allen Americans and previously played for Head Coach Terry Ruskowski in Laredo during the 2008-09 season.
Dixon, a 5'10, 175 lbs forward, played last season for ERC Sonthofen 1999 in Germany where he helped lead his team to the championship. Before that Dixon registered a 40-point season in Laredo during the 2008-09 season (11 g, 29 a).
Before turning professional, Dixon suited up for the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League and the Windsor St. Clair Saints, a college team which played in the Ontario Hockey Association's Major League Hockey.
"I am excited to have Jason join our team," said Killer Bees General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski. "He is a talented center with great playmaking ability and an aggressive style."
The Killer Bees are set to open a nine-game homestand this Friday night when the Texas Brahmas come to the State Farm Arena. The Bees will then play host to the Tulsa Oilers on Saturday night. Both games start at 7:30 p.m.
