Missouri Mavericks Complete the Season at Top of Sher-Wood Power Rankings

GLENDALE, AZ (April 2, 2014) - The Missouri Mavericks (44-20-2) finished the 2013-14 regular season as the points champion in the CHL winning the Bud Poile Governors' Cup and now have earned the top spot on the Sher-Wood/CHL Power Rankings (Coaches Poll).

The poll is released on or near the beginning and middle of each month throughout the regular season. Each first place vote receives 10 points, second place votes earn 9 points, etc. Teams are not permitted to vote for themselves.

The Mavericks earned eight first place votes with the Denver Cutthroats (38-17-11) taking the other two first place votes and finishing the season second not only in the standings but in the power rankings as well.

In fact, the only change in the rankings from the final regular season standings has the Arizona Sundogs (32-27-7) sitting in the seventh spot in the rankings despite finishing as the eighth seed in the standings. The Tulsa Oilers (34-29-3) finished seventh in the standings but are eighth in the last power rankings.

The top five is rounded out by Allen in third place, Rapid City in fourth place and Quad City in fifth place.
