Mississippi's Louis Dumont Wins Weekly Award

(Tempe, Arizona) - The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Mississippi veteran Louis Dumont has been voted the winner of the CHL Performance of the Week for the week of November 30-December 6 for his four-goal third period in the RiverKings 6-3 win over Colorado on December 4.

The Calgary native's team found themselves down 3-2 with just over seven minutes remaining in regulation when Dumont decided to take things into his hands. The 5-10, 180-pound forward tied the game at the 12:59 mark and then scored back-to-back power play goals just 1:36 apart giving Mississippi a 5-3 lead. His fourth goal of the night came with 1:28 remaining into an Eagles empty-net. For his efforts, Dumont won the Oakley CHL Player of the Week award for that week adding three assists in his team's only other game for a seven-point week.

A total of 8,627 votes were cast with Dumont receiving 5018 of them accounting for 58%. Finishing second was Missouri goaltender Alexandre Vincent who shutout Wichita for the Maverick first home shutout in franchise history on December 4 (2,610 votes).

The nominees for the CHL Performance of the Week for week nine of the season (the period between December 7-13) are as follows:

-Colorado's Kevin Ulanski who scored the GWG with 46 seconds remaining in the Eagles 3-2 win at Amarillo on December 11

-Colorado's Ed McGrane who scored the GWG in a shootout of the Eagles 2-1 win versus Odessa on December 12

-Texas' Kevin McLeod scoring OT game winner just 19 seconds into the extra frame of a 3-2 win over Arizona on December 11

-Arizona's Chris Bartolone playing in his 1,000th pro game on December 13 at Tulsa

-Missouri's Doug Groenestege making 33 saves in Mavs 1-0 shutout win at Laredo on December 11

Fans can vote for the winner until Monday, December 21 with the winner being announced on Tuesday, December 22.
