December 15, 2013 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
Ottawa SkyHawks News Release

Mississauga, December 15th, 2013. Playing the second of their back to back road games, the Ottawa SkyHawks faced the Mississauga Power without their high scoring 6th man guard, Jamal Crook who's still out with a foot injury and Bol Kong who's also placed on injured reserve. SkyHawks had a slow start that just couldn't be shook all the way through the first quarter as they trailed a steady 7-10 points and finished at 21-27 for the Power going into the second.

Second quarter was no different from the first as Ottawa trailed the Power who were sitting on a 5 to 10 point lead the full quarter and finished the first half with 44-55 for Mississauga.

The SkyHawks struggled to close the lead gap and were even down by as much as 18 points early in the quarter. Having trailed a steady ten points for much of the quarter, the SkyHawks never gave up and finished the third only down by five points at 77-82.

As the final quarter of the game started, Ryan Anderson led the SkyHawks with a respectable 17 points. There was some excitement stirred by Ottawa as Eric Kibi tied up the game with a vicious slam dunk, but the momentum quickly wore off as the Power reclaimed the lead.

SkyHawks fans following online were at the edge of their seats as Ottawa only trailed by three with less than five minutes to spare in the final moments of the game. Although having over-scored the Power in 3rd and 4th quarter, our SkyHawks just couldn't come back from their deficit from the first half.

Coming off a definite tough loss on the road, Coach Jaren Jackson was "happy with Eric Kibi's physical and aggressive play" tonight "he's taking advantage of opportunities". He went on to say "after a tough start in the first quarter, we battled to get back into the game", but ultimately, the SkyHawks couldn't produce a win in Mississauga Sunday night as they walked out of the Hershey Center with a score tight of 111-108.
