Miracles Force Game 4 with Win over the Lightning

(Moncton, NB) The Moncton Miracles, presented by Rogers, defeated the London Lightning in Game 3 of Round 2 in the NBL of Canada Playoffs with a final score of 114-103. The Lightning lead the series 2-1.

The Miracles Nation showed just how much they loved their team when the game started Herman Favors hitting a 3 and the sea of orange erupting into cheers like never before heard at the Moncton Coliseum. London would be forced to call a time-out with 10:16 on the clock to try and put a stop to Moncton's quick 9-2 burst to start the game.

With 5:16 remaining in the quarter Favors would hit a long 2 to give the Miracles a strong 20-4 lead over the Lightning and showing no signs of slowing up. The Miracles would finish the first quarter in control of the scoreboard with Devin Sweetney leading the way for his squad with 10 points, 31-16.

London would start the second quarter agitated at their slow start and be all over Moncton at both ends of the floor. The Miracles would continue to bring their game on their home court and have a 38-24 lead with 7:42 left in the half. Lightning's Rodney Buford would nail a 3 with 5:08 on the clock to bring the game to the closest it had been in the first few minutes of play, 38-31.

With 1:32 left to play in the second Miracles Isaac Butts would muscle his way into the key for 2 points to give his team back a lead in the double digits, 49-38. The first half would end with the Miracles leading 51-38 over the Lightning.

London would come out looking to even up the score and pick up the intensity. By doubling down on Miracles Butts in the post they the able to shorten the spread to 10 within the first few minutes, 54-44.

Moncton would continue to push back having the crowd behind them showing how bad they wanted this win and to keep their playoff hopes alive. Sweetney's 2 from the free-throw line would get his team back up 67-54. The third quarter would end with Miracles Kamar Burke nailing a fade away jumper to keep his team ahead 82-74.

The crowd kept their team energized to the end and continued to frustrate the visiting Lightning. Favors would go to the line to finish off a 3-point play with 8:15 on the clock to put his team up 95-79.

With 6 minutes remaining on the clock the Sweetney would blow past Lightning's Morgan Lewis to the net for 2 to break the 100-point mark, 101-82.

London's Jeremy Williams was fouled out of the game with 1:26 left to play.

The Moncton Miracles beat the London Lightning down the stretch to keep alive in playoffs with a final score of 114-103.

Herman Favors led the way for the Miracles with 32 points. Devin Sweetney followed with 26 points while Isaac Butts added in with 20 points and 9 rebounds.

Tim Ellis was the force for the Lightning with 21 points and 9 rebounds. Marvin Phillips was next with 17 points and Jeremy Williams with 17 points.

Lightning's Jeremy Williams was fouled out of the game.
