Miracles Fall Short at the Hands of Summerside Storm

(Moncton, NB) The Moncton Coliseum was a sell-out crowd with Monctonians coming out to support the Rogers Slam Dunk Fan Night Game against the Summerside Storm.

Jared Cunningham was the first to put up points for the Miracles with a far out 3 point shot. With it being the Moncton Miracles first game yet this season there were many kinks to work out in their game plan. At the end of the first quarter the Summerside Storm led the game 24-15.

The second quarter continued to go the Storm's way with them leading into the third quarter 41-34. Darrel Wonge and Jared Cunningham leading the way for the Miracles with 8 points each. Eric Gilchrese finished the half with 9 points for Summerside.

The Miracles finally took the lead with 7:36 left in the third quarter to make it 53-50. The rest of the quarter was shot for shot and ended with the Storm back in charge with a 72-67 score.

The final score of the game was 86 to 97. The leading scorer for the Miracles was Jazzmarr Ferguson with 17 points, followed by Darrell Wonge with 15 and Andrew Francis with 14.

The Summerside Storm's leading scorer of the game was Louie McCroskey with 16 points, followed by Julian Allan with 15.

The Miracles regular season home opener takes place on Saturday, November 20 at 2:00 p.m. when they face the Saint John Millrats.
