FORT MYERS, Fla. (May 16, 2013) - The Fort Myers Miracle and Wendy's are teaming up to promote a summer full of reading throughout Southwest Florida with the 14th year of the "Books & Bats" reading program.

Students can pick up a "Books & Bats" bookmark at any Lee County public school, participating Wendy's locations in Lee County and at Hammond Stadium. Students then record the books they read and return the completed bookmark to any participating Wendy's in Lee County.

The aspiring bookworms will receive two tickets to a Miracle game and a free Jr. Frosty from Wendy's. Miracle tickets can be redeemed for games on Wednesday, June 19, Wednesday, July 31 or Friday, August 9.

"Education Day and the Books & Bats program is part of our continued commitment to local schools," said Miracle Senior Director of Sales and Marketing Terry Simon. "This is a program that rewards kids for learning during the summer and we encourage all children to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity."

Miracle tickets can be used by both children and parents. All students in grades K-8 are eligible to participate in the "Books & Bats" program. Student participation is unlimited throughout the summer. For more information, contact the Miracle offices at (239) 768-4210.
