Fort Myers Mighty Mussels News Release
SARASOTA -- The Fort Myers Miracle swept a doubleheader by scores of 6-3 and 4-3 against the Sarasota Reds.
Steve Hirschfeld (6-5) won game one with six and one-third innings of three-run ball. He gave up six hits, walked two, and struck out five. Blair Erickson got his eleventh save as Evan Bigley was 2-for-3 wth two RBI.
In game two, the Miracle came back to tie in the seventh and win in extra innings with one run in the top of the eighth. Henry Arias' four innings of scoreless relief earned him the victory. Chris Parmelee also launched his league-leading fifteenth home run of the season.
The team will travel to Jupiter for a three-game series with the Palm Beach Cardinals beginning on Monday night.
