Fort Myers Mighty Mussels News Release

JUPITER, Fla. (April 17, 2012) - The Jupiter Hammerheads held Fort Myers to four hits on Tuesday night and blanked the Miracle, 4-0, at Roger Dean Stadium to take the series rubber match.

Jupiter starter Rob Rasmussen (1-2) followed Matt Neil's perfect six innings on Monday with a scoreless set of six on Tuesday. The 5-9, 165-pound left-hander held the Miracle order to just three hits and did not allow a baserunner to reach second. The only Fort Myers hitter to round first safely was Angel Morales in the eighth. Morales picked up a two-out double to extend his team-best hitting streak to eight.

The Hammerheads jumped on Miracle starter Pat Dean (0-1) early with runs in each of the first two innings. Marlins' top prospect Christian Yelich delivered a RBI double in the first and shortstop Danny Black drove in a run with a single in the second.

Black would take part in a two-run fourth inning with another RBI hit coupled with a Ryan Fisher sacrifice fly to push the lead to 4-0. Dean exited the game for the Miracle after pitching six innings with eight hits allowed and stuck out three with a walk.

Jupiter relievers Raudel Lazo and Collin Cargill completed the shutout for Jupiter. In the final 18 innings of the series, the Hammerhead hurlers limited Fort Myers to just one run on seven hits.

The Miracle (6-6) have an off-day on Wednesday before returning to Hammond Stadium for a Thirsty Thursday matchup with the Bradenton Marauders at 7:05 p.m. Miracle fans can listen to every pitch and play at www.miraclebaseball.com with the "Voice of the Miracle" Brice Zimmerman and Adam MacDonald. The State Farm pregame show begins at 6:45 p.m.
