Minnesota United FC News Release

MINNEAPOLIS (March 11, 2013) - Building on the success of the 2012 FundRaise the Roof promotion, Minnesota United FC launched an extended version of the program Monday. The program gives youth clubs the opportunity to raise money while helping the club fill the stands at each of its six home games during the North American Soccer League Spring Season, which includes five games at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome and a July 4 match at NSC Stadium.

Participation in the program is free and takes only a few minutes to set up. Clubs need only contact Alex Haueter by emailing alex@mnstarsfc.com or calling (651) 252-7036.

"This program was hugely successful in helping us promote our season opener in 2012 and gave us the opportunity to contribute financially to the youth clubs that make up the backbone of Minnesota's soccer community," Minnesota United FC CEO Djorn Buchholz said. "This year we want to build on that by extending the program through our entire Spring Season as we seek to unite players of all ages and ability through a common love of the sport."

Minnesota United FC will create a customized ticketing page for all participating youth clubs to promote to their members and families. Program tickets are just $6 for youth age 17 and younger and $12 for adults. For every ticket sold before the July 4 Spring Season finale at NSC Stadium, clubs will earn a minimum of 10 percent of the proceeds and a maximum of 20 percent via the following reward schedule: * 1-500 tickets sold: 10 percent * 501-1000 tickets sold: 15 percent * 1001+ tickets sold: 20 percent

All youth clubs will earn the rewards for the tickets they help sell, but the club will add prizes for the clubs that sell the most tickets before the April 6 season opener at the Metrodome and the most overall tickets during the entire program.

The club with the most tickets sold by 5 p.m. on April 1 will be honored as the Club Night sponsor at the Opener, providing player escorts for the pregame processional, ball kids and teams for on-field festivities at halftime. Minnesota United FC will also hold a clinic at the winning club's home field, giving players a chance to meet and train with professional athletes.

The club with the most overall ticket sales will earn a Club Night package for the Fall Season opener at NSC Stadium on August 3. That package includes 300 general admission tickets in addition to all the prizes at the April 6 opener.
