Minnesota Swarm Signs Eight Players

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Minnesota Swarm General Manager Marty O'Neill today announced the National Lacrosse League (NLL) team has re-signed D Mike Kilby, F Spencer Martin, D Mark Miyashita (pronounced (Mee-ash-tah), D Eric Pacey and F Scott Stewart and signed draft picks G Kevin Crosswell, F Hughie Johnson and F Kevin Milkowski to contracts.

Kilby, 25 (3/12/81), notched four points (2-2=4), 18 penalty minutes (PIM) and 45 loose balls in 15 games during his second season with Minnesota in 2006. The 6-foot, 200-pound native of Burnaby, British Columbia has collected seven points (2-5=7), 63 PIM and 71 loose balls in 29 career games during two seasons with the Swarm.

Martin, 26 (9/8/80), tallied 13 points (7-6=13), 13 PIM and 22 loose balls in nine games with Minnesota after being signed as a free agent on January 27, 2006. The 6-foot, 185-pound forward has collected 91 points (43-48=91), 83 PIM and 172 loose balls in 51 career NLL contests during five seasons with Columbus, Philadelphia, San Jose and Minnesota.

Miyashita, 25 (2/17/81), tallied 14 points (4-10=14) in 10 games with the Swarm last season. The defenseman led the club with 87 loose balls and also ranked first on the team in face-offs taken (183) and face-offs won (80). The Vancouver, British Columbia-native has notched 46 points (13-33=46) and 183 loose balls in 32 career NLL matches during three seasons with Vancouver, Colorado and Minnesota.

Pacey, 23 (12/8/82), recorded five points (3-2=5), 20 PIM and 45 loose balls in 13 games with Minnesota last season. The 6-foot-2, 212-pound defenseman has collected 33 points (14-19=33), 62 PIM and 153 loose balls in 51 career NLL contests during five seasons with Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Minnesota.

Stewart, 27 (4/23/79), was acquired by Minnesota in a trade with Portland on February 2, 2006 and recorded a goal in his first game with the Swarm before suffering a season-ending injury against Philadelphia on February 10. The 6-foot-1, 225-pound forward has collected 180 points (92-88=180) and 337 loose balls in 68 career NLL matches during five seasons with New Jersey, Anaheim, Portland and Minnesota.

Crosswell, 21 (10/21/85), was selected in the third round (31st overall) of the 2006 NLL Entry Draft. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound goaltender posted a 7.28 goals against average (GAA) and a .857 save percentage and tallied 13 assists in 21 games with the Port Coquitlam Saints this summer. He was named to the British Columbia Lacrosse Junior 'A' League First All-Star Team.

Johnson, 21 (6/23/85), was taken in the sixth round (70th overall) of the 2006 NLL Entry Draft. The 5-foot-9, 160-pound forward tallied 42 points (7-35=42) in 21 games with the Six Nations Arrows of the Ontario Junior 'A' Lacrosse Association this summer.

Milkowski, 21 (6/4/85), was selected in the fourth round (44th overall) of the 2006 NLL Entry Draft. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound forward notched 29 points (23-6=29) in 19 games with the Victoria Shamrocks of the British Columbia Lacrosse Junior 'A' League this summer.
