Southern Illinois Miners News Release
Marion, Ill. (April 4, 2016) - The Southern Illinois Miners announce that they have reached an agreement to renew their partnership with Rent One for the next ten years, ensuring that the Home of the Miners will continue to be known as Rent One Park through the 2026 season.
The ballpark, which has been called Rent One Park for the Miners' entire history dating back to 2007, has played host to the Southern Illinois Miners' home games as well as local high schools and colleges playing games there during the spring. Youth teams have also played tournaments there, bringing people from all across the region into Marion and Williamson County.
In addition, the ballpark has featured concerts with artists including Jason Aldean, Gary Allen, Florida-Georgia Line, Craig Morgan, Rodney Atkins and Kellie Pickler, and hosted large-scale group events throughout its history including the 2010 Frontier League All-Star Game. On the field, the Miners have compiled a 293-159 record in nine seasons at their home ballpark, a winning percentage of nearly 65%, while also taking more than 70% of their home series in franchise history to make Rent One Park synonymous with success.
"Rent One has been a wonderful partner with us for the last ten seasons and we are very excited to have them be such an important part of the next ten years," Miners owner Jayne Simmons said. "We are thankful to have such a great partner."
Rent One was founded in 1985 with the mission to make quality merchandise accessible while providing exceptional customer service to its clients. A member company of SKC Enterprises, Inc., Rent One owns and operates 70+ store locations across nine states and is headquartered in St. Louis.
"Rent One is pleased to continue our partnership that we have established over the last ten years," Larry Carrico, the CEO of Rent One, said. "Looking forward, it's a situation where everyone wins- our clients in southern Illinois, our company as a whole, and of course, the Miners."
"Larry Carrico and Mark Williams from Rent One have been great partners to work with and I am so thrilled that they will remain a part of our futurem," Miners manager and COO Mike Pinto added. "I am looking forward to working with them to create even more ways for customers of Rent One to enjoy Miners baseball and to acquaint more Miners fans with the Rent One company."
