Miners Release 2009 Schedule

Southern Illinois Miners News Release
MARION, Ill. - The Frontier League announced the 2009 schedule earlier today. The Miners will open the season on the road with three games against the Evansville Otters beginning on Friday, May 22. The home opener at Rent One Park is scheduled for Friday, May 29 against the Kalamazoo Kings. Game times have not yet been announced.
For the third year in a row the Miners will have a home game on Independence Day as they take on the Otters Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the Fourth of July weekend. The regular season will conclude at Rent One Park when the Miners host River City on Labor Day weekend, Friday, Sept. 4-Sunday, Sept. 6.
The Miners will travel to two new locations during the 2009 campaign as a new team in Avon, Ohio will replace the Chillicothe Paints, and the Midwest Sliders will move into a temporary home in Ypsilanti, Mich. on the campus of Eastern Michigan University.
Miners fans will have their first opportunity to purchase tickets for the 2009 season when Miners 10 Game Holiday Ticket Packs go on sale on Friday, Nov. 28 at the General Store at Rent One Park.
