
Milwaukee Ready to Host Calgary Tonight (7:35 PM) at Uihlein Soccer Park

Milwaukee Wave United, the Wave's A-League (outdoor) team welcomes the Calgary Mustangs to Uihlein Soccer Park tonight, Friday, August 6 for a 7:35 PM match. It's another important game for Wave United (8-9-3, 27 points) as Coach Art Kramer's team continues to battle for a playoff spot in the Western Conference. Milwaukee currently stands fifth in the conference, four points behind fourth-place Seattle (9-10-4, 31 points) and six points behind third-place Minnesota (10-7-3, 33 points). The top four teams in both the Eastern and Western Conferences will qualify for the A-League playoffs beginning in September.
Wave / Wave United Members from U.S. Futsal Squad (Keith Tozer, Greg Howes, Todd Dusosky, and Pat White) to be Honored at Halftime of Tonight's Game
Wave Coach Keith Tozer along with Wave / Wave United players Greg Howes, Pat White, and Todd Dusosky will be honored for their recent contributions to the U.S. National Futsal Team's during halftime ceremonies at tonight's game. All four were substantial contributors to the U.S. effort which produced a first-place finish in the just completed CONCACAF Futsal Championship held in Heredia, Costa Rica.
Tozer, the U.S. National Futsal Team coach, directed the team to its second CONCACAF title (the U.S. also claimed the crown under Tozer in 1996) while Howes, Dusosky, and White were all instrumental in the team's success. Howes led the U.S. team in scoring with four goals, including the game-winner in a 2-0 win over Cuba in Saturday's (7/31) championship tilt. Howes also scored twice in the U.S. triumph over Costa Rica (4-0) the previous night (7/30), which clinched a spot for the U.S. team in FIFA Futsal World Championship to be held November 21 â December 5 in Chinese Taipei. Dusosky and White each scored twice in a 6-0 win over Guyana on 7/26, while Dusosky added an assist in the tournament opening 2-2 tie with Panama. (Howes also scored one of the goals in that contest.) The 12-man U.S. team was comprised exclusively of Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) players.

All fans are invited to join the Wave United players and coaches for a post-game party at Champps Americana in Greenfield (5016 S. 74th St., 414-281-0600) immediately following the game. Fans will have an opportunity to meet and greet players and coaches, get autographs, and enjoy some great food and beverages.
