
Milwaukee places five players on All MISL Teams
April 22, 2003 - Major Indoor Soccer League 2 (MISL 2) News Release
(Westport, CT. â April 22, 2003) â The Major Indoor Soccer League today announced the 2002-03 All- MISL Teams. The Teams are the results of voting by members of the media who cover the League's teams, MISL team managers and coaches. The All- MISL Teams make up the best players in their positions as recognized by the voters.
Dominating this year's All- MISL Teams are the Milwaukee Wave who finished the regular season with a record 28-8 and went to the wire in the MISL Championship Playoffs before losing to the Baltimore Blast in Game Three last Friday, April 18. Representing the Wave on the first team are Goalkeeper Victor Nogueira, Forward Greg Howes, and Forward Joe Reiniger. Nogueira was named 2002-03 MISL Goalkeeper of the Year and this is the eighth time in his 11 years as a Wave member that Nogueira has been named to the All-MISL/NPSL Team. Wave forwards Greg Howes and Joe Reiniger round out Milwaukee representatives on the All-MISL Team. Howes led the Wave this season in points (102), two- point goals (37) and was second in shots (102). Reiniger was close behind Howes with 100 points and two -point goals with 27 but led the Wave in three- point goals with eight. Reiniger outshot Howes with 198 shots.
Others selected to the first 2002-03 All-MISL Team are Harrisburg's Genoni Martinez, the 2002-03 MISL Defender of the Year and Baltimore's MISL 2002-03 Champion and Defender of the Year runner-up Sean Bowers. Up front the 2002-03 MISL Most Valuable Player and the Spalding Scoring Champion Dino Delevski representing the Kansas City Comets make up the final spots on the first team.
The 2002-03 second All-MISL Team is comprised of Philadelphia KiXX Goalkeeper Peter Pappas selected to the All-League Team for the seventh time. Pappas is joined on the second All-MISL Team by KiXX defenseman Pat Morris who is repeating on the All- League Team for the second year. For the first time in league history twin brothers Todd and Troy Dusosky have made the All-MISL Team. Troy as a defenseman and Todd as a forward. Filling in the last two positions on the five man second squad are San Diego Sockers forward Carlos "Chile" Farias and Harrisburg Heat forward David Bascome.
