MILWAUKEE (October 18, 2011) - The Milwaukee Mustangs announce the assignment of offensive lineman Shannon Breen (6'4, 305, West Virginia Wesleyan) and defensive lineman James McClinton III (6'1, 320, Kansas) for the 2012 season.
Breen, who had an outstanding career at West Virginia Wesleyan, says he has missed playing football. He spent seven weeks working out at an elite training facility in Atlanta, took part in a regional combine in Baltimore, and was invited to attend the national combine in Indianapolis. Breen continued working out during his time off the field and states, "This is a chance of a lifetime to play pro ball." He was a first-team West Virginia Intercollegiate Conference pick at left tackle as a senior and was named top offensive lineman on his team in the All-American Bowl at the University of Minnesota. Breen was also chosen to play in the Cactus Bowl along with the top Division II football players in the country.
James McClinton is no new face in the Arena Football League. He spent 2011 playing for the Spokane Shock and was listed on the roster of the Chicago Rush for the 2010 season. Previously he played two years with the Green Bay Blizzard, compiling an impressive stat line of 22 games played, 17.5 sacks and 74 total tackles, as well as a spot on the second-team All-IFL in 2011. The Kansas University All-American helped guide the Jayhawks to a victory in the 2008 Orange Bowl and was invited by the New England Patriots to participate in a team combine.
