Milwaukee Mustangs Announce Open Tryouts for 2012 Season

MILWAUKEE (November 23, 2011) - Do you think you have what it takes to be a professional football player' Find out on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011. The Milwaukee Mustangs of the Arena Football League are hosting open tryouts for the 2012 season for those who think they can cut it in the AFL.

The tryouts begin at 8 a.m. at the University of Minnesota's Gibson-Nagurski Football Complex, home of Golden Gopher football and named in honor of Gopher greats George Gibson and Bronko Nagurski. Registration starts at 8 a.m. for skill positions and 9 a.m. for linemen.

"We are looking for talented football players that can play hard-hitting arena football," said Head Coach Bob Landsee. "There have been several players that have made an impact in arena football that have been discovered through open tryouts, and we are hoping to do the same with this tryout in Minnesota."

It is strongly advised that participants preregister by logging onto mkemustangs.com and downloading the form or calling 414-224-4000 as space is limited and filling up quickly. A preregistration fee of $60 is required through Dec. 15, 2011 (pay by Master Card, Visa, or Discover). Registration on the day of the event requires an application fee of $70 (cash or cashier's check only).

Milwaukee Mustangs Head Coach Bob Landsee and other football operations staff will conduct the workouts. Players will be tested on their 20-yard dash time, 40-yard dash time, shuttle run, pro agility, and long and vertical jumps. Players will also participate in other position-specific drills and face on-field playing evaluations. Please bring appropriate workout gear and shoes.
