Milwaukee Wave United News Release

(Milwaukee, WI) – The Indiana Blast came into Uihlein Soccer Park Sunday (6/29) hoping to get a victory for new coach Mike Sanich, but the only thing it got was its second loss in as many days as Milwaukee Wave United defeated the Blast 4-0 before a crowd of 2,222.

Forward Todd Dusosky paced the scoring with three goals, while goalkeeper, Jim Larkin, held a team scoreless for the fourth time this season and the 20th time in his six seasons in the A-League. Indiana, coming off of a 2-1 loss to the Minnesota Timbers the night before, was playing its second game under Sanich following the resignation of Coach Jimmy McDonald prior to the road trip.

The first goal came in the 14th minute as Todd Dusosky headed in a ball from Joe Hammes, the first assist and professional point for the rookie out of Saint Louis University. The remainder of the first half was scoreless as Milwaukee failed to convert on 11 additional shots.

The second half scoring started the same way it ended with Todd Dusosky beating a defender down the center of the field to score off a pass from Greg Howes in the 59th minute.

Todd Dusosky capped off his hat trick in the 68th minute when he converted off of a shot by Delevski that was deflected back to Dusosky for his third goal of the game. This was the sixth goal for the Anoka, Minnesota native and his 13th point of the season.

Steve Bernal scored in the 77th minute, his first of the season from Ball to give Wave United its fourth and final goal of the contest. Armando Femia, who had four saves, took the loss for Indiana.

Milwaukee improved to 6-4-0 (18 points) to move into a third place tie in the Central Division with the Cinncinati Riverhawks (6-8-0). Indiana stayed in 5th place in the Central Division with a record of 2-13-1 (7 points).

Wave United has two big games this week, the first against the Central Division leading Minnesota Timbers in Minnesota this Wednesday. Milwaukee returns home on Saturday, July 5 against the Pacific Division leading Seattle Sounders at 7:30 pm.
