Vermont Frost Heaves News Release

Manchester, NH - Despite a scoring outburst by Vermont guard Terrance Green, who sank nine 3-pointers over 51 minutes, the Manchester Millrats dealt the Frost Heaves their first defeat of the season, 110-108 in overtime, this afternoon at Southern New Hampshire University.

Millrats forward Rob Sanders' converted the lone "3D" opportunity of the game in the final seconds of overtime to give Manchester its winning margin. Dokun Akingbade and Antonio Burks missed last looks for Vermont as time ran out.

Green's final three pointer, plus a foul shot, pushed Vermont to a 101-93 lead with 1:30 to play in regulation. But Sanders led a Millrats charge that forced the extra session. Vermont held a three point advantage in the overtime after Akingbade scored on a tip-in with 36 seconds remaining, but Ismael Caro and Ben Sanders put the hosts over the top.

With the victory the Millrats improved their record to 8-1 and continue to set the pace in the ABA's Blue North Division. The Frost Heaves, now 6-1, lead the Blue Northeast.
