EDMONTON, AB - Wings (4-5) goaltender Brandon Miller was sensational in net and led the team to a 14-9 victory over the Edmonton Rush (3-6). Merrick Thomson was Philadelphia's offensive star with six goals, but it was Miller's dominance in net that proved to be the difference.

"Brandon was great tonight, but everyone contributed," said Head Coach Dave Huntley. "We kept to our game plan and were able to get a win over a good team in a very tough building."

Edmonton jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead, but Philadelphia, led by Thomson, scored the last three goals of the quarter. Miller withstood an Edmonton barrage of shots, stopping 11 of 12 with the only goal coming on a Rush powerplay.

Both clubs scored three goals in the second quarter, but it was a key penalty kill that was the turning point in the game. At the 7:21 mark, the Wings went down two men for a full two minutes and once again it was Miller who saved the day. He stopped 11 shots in the quarter, six of which were during the two man disadvantage. Philadelphia escaped the first half with a 6-4 lead.

The top play of the night came in the third quarter when the Wings Drew Westervelt scored a goal on an incredible shot which saw him dive across the goal crease and scorewith a shot behind his head. Miller turned away all six Rush attempts on net of the period. The Wings took a 10-4 lead into the final quarter of play.

Edmonton had their best offensive quarter in the fourth, but Philadelphia had an answer for each Rush goal. Both teams would net five goals in the last period of play and Miller stopped 8 more Rush shots to finish his stellar evening.
