
Mill Rats Rally Falls Short

(Saint John, NB): The Saint John Mill Rats rallied from a 21 point second half deficit to come as close as 5, but came up short to the Brampton A's before a crowd of 1,983 at Harbour Station.
For the second time this year, Saint John started slow at home allowing the visitors to gain an early double digit lead. Anthony Anderson carried the Mill Rats in a second quarter rally to cut the lead to 47-50 at the half.
In the third quarter, the A's caught fire from the three point arc and former Mill Rat, Cavell Johnson, dominated the interior. The A's outscored the Mill Rats 25-15 in the quarter.
Saint John began a furious rally reducing the twenty one point A's lead down to 102-97 with 42 seconds remaining. But a mixed box out on a free throw allowed Brampton to score again and the Mill Rats ran short of time. Saint John put 40 points on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter, but gave up 32.
Tyrone Levett led the Mill Rats with 25 points and 10 rebounds, Anthony Anderson 23, Chris Matthews 19, and newcomer Casey Love had 10 points. Click here or the full BOX SCORE KoqDkDrUZmIj7A].
Brampton improves to a league-leading 7-2 record while Saint John drops to 5-3, but maintains 1st place in the Atlantic Division.
The Mill Rats next home game is Sunday November 24th against the Moncton Miracles at 4PM.
