Saint John Riptide News Release

(Saint John, NB): The Saint John Mill Rats are pleased to announce that Grandbay-Westfield's Mike Anderson has been activated to the roster effectively immediately, as the top 2 NBL division leaders face off tonight at Harbour Station.

The 5-2 Mill Rats host the 6-2 Brampton A's for the first time ever, at 7PM AST tonight.

The game will also feature the return of former Mill Rats of a year ago: Cavell Johnson, Kevin Francis, and Melvin Council - who all suit up with the A's. David Cooper is with the A's as an assistant coach.

Mike Anderson, a 6'4 shooting guard who played his college ball at UNB-Fredericton and also played for Harbourview High, was known for his tenacious defense and all-out effort last season.

Anderson tweeted: "Pumped to be back playin at #HarbourStation this weekend. Its fun to be ballin with these #MillRats"

Front Court Reinforcements Signed

The Mill Rats have also added 6'6 235lb power forward Eric Petty Jr. and 6'9 245lb centre Casey Love to reinforce their front court. Both players have been cleared by FIBA to play tonight.

Enabling the roster ads for the weekend was Jermaine Blackburn being added to Injured Reserve with hamstring strain, and Damian Gay being deactivated for the weekend as he is out of town travelling with the Rothesay Netherwood School boys basketball team. Both players are expected to be re-added to the active roster on Monday.

On Sunday at 4pm the Mill Rats will face off against their division rival, the Moncton Miracles.

Single game, season & flex tickets are still on sale at the at the Harbour Station Box Office by calling 506-657-1234.
