
Mill Rats Notch 20th Win of the Season

(Saint John, NB): The Saint John Mill Rats notched their 20th win of the season, defeating the Moncton Miracles 106-102.
The first quarter was a rough start for the hosts as Anthony Anderson picked up a technical and the Miracles started with a 29-21 lead.
Mill Rats new acquisition Lawrence Wright wasted no time contributing with 8 points in the first half on a pair threes and a layup. Saint John outscored Moncton 26-20 to cut the deficit to 49-47 at the half.
The third quarter belonged to the Mill Rats also as they outscored the Miracles 36-26.
In the fourth quarter Saint John held a 100-93 lead with 3 min remaining when Alex Desroches hit back to back three points to slice the lead to a mere 100-99. Following a timeout, Jermaine Blackburn nailed a baseline shot off glass to lead 102-99 with 34 seconds remaining. After a stop, Anthony Anderson drove in an lobbed an alley oop pass to Eric Crookshank, whose two handed jam gave the Mill Rats a 104-99 with 36 seconds left.
Desroches managed to hit another three to cut the deficit to 104-102 but Tyrone Levett iced the game with two free throws and a rebound on the Miracles final possession.
Anthony Anderson scored 23 points, Tyrone Levett 21, Doug Herring Jr. 20 while Eric Crookshank hauled down 13 rebounds. Trayvon Lathan had 22 for Moncton.
The Mill Rats maintain first place in the Atlantic Division, and move into third overall in the league with a 20-13 record, while the Miracles fall to 12-22.
The Mill Rats now have four straight road games before returning to Harbour Station on Feb 23rd to face the Rainmen at 4PM.
