WHAT: The Grand Rapids Griffins are conducting their annual youth hockey camp, which helps young players maximize their skills through on-ice instruction, dry-land training and film/off-ice instruction.
WHO: Kentwood native and Philadelphia Flyers forward Mike Knuble will make special appearances at the camp this Wednesday, Aug. 8 and Friday, Aug. 10 from approximately 1:30-3 p.m. each day.
The camp operates under the guidance of Griffins assistant coach Jim Paek and former Griffin/current NHL defenseman Joel Kwiatkowski.
Dozens of children, ranging in age from six to 16, are taking part in the camp. Donations from camp sponsors are enabling 12 children from Griffins Youth Foundation programs to participate in the camp at no cost.
WHEN: Monday, Aug. 6 through Friday, Aug. 10 (Session One)
Monday., Aug. 13 through Friday, Aug. 17 (Session Two)
On-ice sessions run approximately 9:15-10:45 a.m. and 1:30-3 p.m. daily.
