Mike Hold joins Gladiators coaching staff

Las Vegas, NV, August 12, 2005 - The Las Vegas Gladiators announced today the addition of Mike Hold to head coach Ron James' coaching staff as the offensive coordinator.
Hold will take on the roll of offensive coordinator for the Gladiators in the 2006 season. He comes to Las Vegas after being the head coach of the Macon Knights of af2 for the previous two seasons.
"Mike is very knowledgeable about the Arena Football League and I am excited about adding him to our coaching staff," head coach Ron James said. "He has played and coached in this League for a long time and having him here in Vegas brings experience and enthusiasm to our organization."
Hold began his coaching career with the Augusta Stallions of af2 in 2001. While in Augusta, Hold guided one of the most efficient offenses in the League. He took the expansion-Stallions to a 9-7 record in 2001 with an offense that ranked in the top 10 in scoring offense (48.5 points/game) and passer rating (98.8). In 2002, Hold and the Stallions finished with the best record in af2 at 13-3 and qualified for the playoffs. His team finished in the top 10 of the league in scoring (52.9 points/game), pass offense (237.2 yards/game) and passer rating (106.7). He finished his career with the Stallions with a 22-11 record. Hold joined the Macon Knights in October of 2003 after serving as head coach of the know defunct Carolina Cobras, of the Arena Football League, during the 2003 season.
"I am really excited about joining the Gladiators and working with Coach James and the rest of his staff," Hold said. "I look forward to doing my part in bringing an ArenaBowl championship here to Las Vegas."
