London Lightning News Release
(London, Ontario) London Lightning are proud to announce that head coach Michael Ray Richardson has been named Coach of the Month. He is the first coach to be honoured in the National Basketball League of Canada.
"I think it's a great honour to be the first one in a new league to be Coach of the Month,'" explained Coach Richardson. "I am looking forward to getting many more."
London rests atop the league standings with a 7-2 record. The Lightning have not lost consecutive games thus far. It is the second league-wide honour for London, as Gabe Freeman was the first ever Player of the week.
"Coach Richardson has been working extremely hard and is obviously deserving of this acknowledgement. The season is young and we have to continue to work very hard to get to where we would like to be. Michael is the kind of coach that won't accept second place and that is one of the main reasons we brought him into London," said Lightning General Manager, Taylor Brown.
London resumes action on Friday, December 2nd on the road against the Summerside Storm. They return home to play the second game of a two game series against the Oshawa Power on Saturday, December 10th at 7:00pm.
