Coming up: The Manatees take to the road on their first three-game road trip of the season.

First on the schedule will be a meeting in Lakeland with the Loggerheads on Dec. 5th. The Manatees have hosted Lakeland once in Miami, defeating them by a score of 5-2. Ryan Kiley had two goals and one assist, while Todd Nowicki, Oak Hewer, Eric Perricone, and Tom Perry each contributed with two points. Goalie Sean Weaver stopped 29 of 31 shots. This will be the first time the Manatees have played the Loggerheads in Lakeland.

On Dec. 6th, the Manatees take on the Barracudas in their second appearance at the Veterans Memorial Arena. The last time the teams met, the Manatees defeated the Barracudas 6-2 in Jacksonville's home opener on Nov. 28, getting four points apiece from Hewer and Perricone, while Weaver made 36 saves on 38 shots. The Manatees have defeated the Barracudas in their first two meetings, outscoring them 11-4.

The Manatees will finish their road-trip in Orlando on Dec. 7th as they take on the Seals. The Manatees have played the Seals three times this season, earning three out of a possible six points, going 1-1-1. In the last meeting, the Seals defeated the Manatees 6-2 in Orlando. Ryan Kiley and Todd Nowicki scored goals for the Manatees, and Sean Weaver, making his seventh consecutive start, made 28 saves on 34 shots.

Manatee Notes: The Manatees remain in sole possession of first place in the WHA2 with eleven points through seven games. They have a record of 5-1-1, having earned a point in six of seven of their games this season. They are undefeated in four games at home, and are scoring an average of 5.1 goals a game (through seven games). The Manatees have only given up 26 goals so far this season.

The Manatees have the second ranked power-play and top ranked penalty-kill in the WHA2. The Manatees power-play is operating at a 26.82% efficiency rate, while the penalty kill has killed off 85.41% (41-48) of their opponent's power-plays.

Through 7 games, the Manatees have two of the top five scorers in the WHA2. Second in the league with 18 points is left wing Eric Perricone. Perricone's nine goals puts him 2nd in the league in goal scoring behind Alabama's Paul Vincent's ten goals.

Oak Hewer is fourth in league scoring with 16 points, and second in the league with 11 assists. Ryan Kiley is tied for seventh in league scoring with 10 points, and tied for third in goal scoring.

Tom Perry is the leading scorer among defenseman with ten points. Goaltender Sean Weaver is leading the league in wins with five, and is fourth in the league with a 3.70 GAA (min. 4 games).

Moving Up: The Manatees jumped up two spots in the ITC/Just Hockey "AA" Top 20 Hockey Poll, and are now ranked second overall among 70 eligible nationwide teams from various leagues. WHA2 teams also getting recognition on the Top 20 poll are Jacksonville at #12 and Alabama at #19.
