Miami FC kicked off on the right foot, holding most of the possession and making their way up the host's half numerous times. However, the Orange and Blue did not produce a clear chance.
Forward Kyle Murphy did head a ball into the goal, but the referee called back the goal due to a foul on the goalkeeper Philip Breno.
Miami dealt well with Tampa's attacks throughout the half. Nonetheless, the crossbar helped MFC in the dying embers of the first 45 minutes. Midfielder Nicholas Law stepped up to take a free kick, and the ball deflected off the bar.
