Fort Lauderdale Strikers News Release

Miami, March 30, 2008 - Pouring rain and thunderstorms were responsible for the cancellation of the preseason game between Miami FC and the Montreal Impact, which was scheduled to be played this Sunday night. "With these field conditions is not wise to play this game, especially because in 13 days we will be playing a regular season match against the Charleston Battery," said Zinho, Miami FC head coach. "We really want to avoid the risk of injuries," complemented Miami FC's General Manager Luiz Muzzi.

The first game of this Sunday's tripleheader ended with a convincing 5-0 victory by the US National Team against Miami FC Kendall Under-16. The second game of the day between Miami FC Kendall Under-18 and the corresponding US National Team was also interrupted due to the heavy rain at minute 39. The score was 0-0.

Miami FC will begin competition for the 2008 season on Saturday, April 12th, at Tropical Park Stadium against the Charleston Battery at 7:30 p.m. Season tickets are currently on sale by visiting www.miamifc.com or by calling 305-728-2612. Single game tickets are available through Ticketmaster or by calling 1-866-57-MIAMI.
