Fort Lauderdale Strikers News Release
Miami, March 15, 2010- Miami FC announced today new signings coming from its sister club, Desportivo Brasil. Five players will join the ranks of the Blues including one of Miami's best forwards from last season, Paulo Araujo Jr. Terms of the signings were not disclosed.
"This is a very young and talented nucleus, we have been monitoring these players and we think they are ready to show their skills here in the US. We already know what Paulo Jr. can do, and we know that the other players will contribute to what is becoming a very solid 2010 roster," said team General Manager Luiz Muzzi.
Joining Paulo Jr are four other up-and-coming players: Ariel Germiniani, Lennon Celestino, Euzebio Neto, and Paulinho Le Petit. All five will join the team in the upcoming weeks. Euzebio Neto plays right back and comes to Miami after spending time playing for one of Miami FC's sister clubs, Estoril of Liga Vitalis in Portugal. Ariel Germiniani, Paulinho Le Petit and Lennon Celestino will contribute to a potent midfield that already features Jarryd Goldberg and Bryan Perez.
Paulo Araujo Jr returns to the team after a very impressive first season in South Florida. He showed his superior skill on the ball and blistering speed scoring three goals for the Blues last season.
The Blues will continue their pre-season this week when they square off against Barry University in the Haiti Relief Kick Off, on Saturday, March 20th. Admission to the game requires a cash or soccer gear donation. Kickoff is set for 7pm at Barry University's Miami Shores campus.
Miami FC will open the 2010 season on Sunday, April 10 at 7:30 p.m. at Lockhart Stadium against the visiting Rochester Rhinos.
