Miami, March 12, 2010- Miami FC lost the second preseason game to the New York Red Bulls 3-1 at Lockhart Stadium this Friday. The Blues will continue their preseason with a closed door scrimmage against Lynn University this Saturday, March 14 at 10 a.m.
"We appreciate them coming down here. We faced a team that has been together for six weeks, while we just started preseason last week," said Head Coach Victor Pastora. "It was a great opportunity to evaluate talent and make final decisions."
Miami fell behind early with a goal from New York forward Salou Ibrahim in the third minute. The Blues found their way back into the match and started creating more offensive opportunities. Towards the end of the first half, Edward Santeliz scored his first goal with a Miami FC uniform, scoring off a Bryan Perez rebound.
The New York Red Bulls quickly scored their second goal of the match when Conor Chinn headed a ball past the outstretched arms of the Miami goal keeper. Chinn was at it again when he broke through the defense on the right flank and fired a shot that lead to his second goal of the match.
Miami FC will open the 2010 season on Sunday, April 10 at 7:30 p.m. at Lockhart Stadium against the visiting Rochester Rhinos.
