March 9, 2010 - North American Soccer League (NASL)
Fort Lauderdale Strikers News Release

Miami, FL, March 9, 2010- Miami FC announced today the signing of forward Edward Santeliz. The 22-year-old Guatemalan-American becomes the latest high profile player to join Miami FC. Santeliz becomes the fourth active Guatemalan to play abroad. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

"We are very excited to have Edward Santeliz join Miami FC. We saw him for the first time three years ago when he played for the U-20 Guatemalan National Team, and he had a very strong performance against the United States. He is a player that has tremendous technical skill, and is very strong on the ball. He is a great addition to the core players that we have signed so far," said General Manager Luiz Muzzi.

Born in Chicago, IL, Santeliz moved to his parents native Guatemala when he was 18-years-old to join Deportivo Suchitepequez, where he quickly made a name for himself. His strong performance earned him a spot on the Guatemalan Under-20 team that played to qualify to the 2007 U-20 World Cup Canada. This past 2009 season he netted four goals with Desportivo Sachitepequez.

Miami FC will open the 2010 season on April 10 at 7:30PM at Lockhart Stadium against the visiting Rochester Rhinos
