Pulaski Mariners News Release
Kingsport beat the Pulaski Mariners 6-4 on the same night that their parent club won the 4,000th game in franchise history.
The Kingsport Mets relied heavily on homeruns to get past Pulaski. The Mariners allowed three home runs over the duration of the contest.
Pulaski scored three early runs in the first inning. Right fielder Estarlyn Morales mashed a two-run home run in that frame for his first dinger of the season.
Kingsport responded with two runs in the bottom of the first and fourth innings to take the lead, but the Mariners responded quickly with a Wayne Taylor RBI single in the fifth.
The Mets scored the game's final runs in the sixth inning. Both Pedro Perez and Luis Ortega swatted homers off of Pulaski starter Troy Scott (1-2, 3.60 ERA).
Scott allowed nine hits over six innings of work, and allowed all six runs-four earned and was charged with the loss.
Arby Fields added two hits from the leadoff spot which bumped his average above .300.
Pulaski returns home for a showdown with East Division rival Danville on Military Appreciation Night. All active, retired, and veteran military personnel and their families receive free admission and a meal. First pitch is scheduled for 7pm.
